Animals & Fowl § 5.09 <br /> <br />'1 <br /> <br />size, but larger than 1.5 acres in size, the land owner shall apply <br />for and obt_~hu a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) from the City. <br /> <br />An application for the CUP shall be initiated by the land owner <br />where the horse(s) are to be maintained by filing a form <br />prescribed by the City. The procedure to be followed shall be as <br />prescribed in §9.03.04 of this code. In addition, the Horse Care <br />Commission shall be consulted. <br /> <br />Sub& 5. SkeW. h Drawing Req~,ired. <br /> <br />Prior to maintaining and boarding a horse or horses on any <br />parcel of land 3 acres or more in size, the landowner shall provide <br />a sketch drawing to the City. <br /> <br />Required Sketch Drawing information shall include: <br /> <br />1. Name and address of the fee owner of the subject property <br /> where the horse(s) are to be maintained and the name and <br /> address of occupant of subject property. <br /> <br />2. Legal description of subject property. <br /> <br />3. Acreage of subject property and acreage of enclosed roaming <br /> area. <br /> <br />4. Number of horses to be maintained on subject property. <br /> <br />Sketch drawing showing, to scale: <br />(a) Location of all buildings on subject property; <br />(b) fenced in horse pasture area; <br />(c) location and distance from subject property of all <br /> adjacent property's buildings; and <br />(d) area on subject property where manure will be stored if <br /> the number of horses exceeds one horse per 1/2 acre of <br /> enclosed roaming area. <br /> <br />Sub& 6. Rodent and Insect Control <br /> <br />Manure shall be handled or treated in such a manner as not to <br />create a public nuisance which shall mean at a rn~n~rn.r~ that <br />manure will be properly disposed of weePdy when the n-tuber of <br />horses on muy one parcel exceeds one horse per 1/2 acre of <br />enclosed romrn~ng area. <br /> <br />Corrals, pens, stables or s~rn~lar enclosures shall be maintained <br />in a ~nnner to minimize fly breeding. <br /> <br />Acc~mulations of horse manure on the paved portion of a street, <br />sidewalk or alley shall not be permitted, and the horse owner <br />shall be responsible to abate such fluisance. <br /> <br />Subd. 7 Care ~,nd M~,i-nter~nnce of ttorse, s. <br /> <br />Printed 12/28/90 <br /> <br />Page 113 <br /> <br />q7 <br /> <br /> <br />
