I I I i I '1 ! i I I I I I I I I I I I November 22, 1991 Mayor Jim Gilbertson City of Ramsey, MN It is with deep regret that I wish to inform you that I intend to resign from the City of Ramsey as a Councilmember effective the 14th of January, 1992. Due to a recent position change in my job which will demand more of my time away from the immediate metro area, I will be unable to attend, on a regular basis, the scheduled and special council sessions along with the various committee/board meetings. After having served the public for over 35 years (dual career of military and police) this resignation will be a first when it comes to not completing a requested tour of duty. The past three years as a councilmember has been enlightening to say the least as to governmental operations and actions (in some cases inaction) and the last year has had to have been the most rewarding. I would like to qualify that last statement by saying I thoroughly enjoy the present council and its ability to work through the numerous and various problems with a "common sense for the common good" approach to the business at hand. I would be remiss if 1 did not compliment the city staff and their abilities to maintain operations for a growing and expanding city in this ever expanding metro region. I want to thank you, Mr. Mayor, for exceeding expectations and providing the necessary levity in some of the somber occasions we have encountered. This coupled with business and contracting experience has greatly assisted all of us. I would also like to thank Sheila Beyer and Glen Hardin for their insight and working knowledge of both the financial and governmental operations side of the job of councilmember. Invaluable is the only term I can think of at this time. Finally, I want to thank Ken Peterson for his past three years of sage advice, genuine concern for the tasks at hand, and for being a valued sounding board and a true friend. Richard P. Cich /9/
