POSITION TITLE: <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY POSITION <br />Engineering Technician <br /> <br />ANALYSIS <br /> <br />(7/91) <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT: <br /> <br />Engineering <br /> <br />POSITION TITLE OF <br />IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Senior Engineering Technician <br /> <br />PRIMARY~ OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br /> <br />The primary objective of this position is to perform routine tasks associated with engineering <br />needs and land mapping requirements. <br /> <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> <br />A. Perform drafting work. <br />B. Prepare, maintain and file "as-built" plans of City public works improvements. <br />C. Prepare and enter data into the Geographic Information System. <br />D. Prepare Assessment rolls. <br />E. Perform and check computations. <br />F. Assist in performing field surveys. <br />G. Perform miscellaneous duties at the verbal or written direction of the Senior Engineering <br /> Technician or City Engineer. <br /> <br />TASKS RELATED TO RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> <br />Perform drafting work. <br />1. Transposes field notes into plan drawings. <br />2. Assists Senior Engineering Technician in detailing sewer, water and street plans. <br />3. Prepares other drafting work as directed by the Senior Engineering Technician. <br /> <br />Prepare, maintain and file "as-built" plans of City public works improvements. <br />1. Transcribes field notes onto permanent file plan sheets. <br />2. Maintains filing system of subdivision and public improvement plans. <br /> <br />Prepare and enter data into the Geographic Information System. <br />1. Attends training to become familiar with City's GIS software and its use. <br />2. Enters survey data into GIS system. <br /> <br />Prepare Assessment rolls. <br />1. Identifies properties benefited by improvements. <br />2. Calculates individual property assessment. <br /> <br />Perform and check computations. <br />1. Prepare necessary construction grade sheets for sewer and water projects. <br />2. Calculate construction utility grades from street profile plans. <br /> <br /> <br />
