Total Defense has submitted a request to the City to allow an indoor shooting range at 6001 167th Ave NW. The request includes two parts: 1) text amendment to City Code Section 117-114 to list Indoor Shooting Ranges as a Conditional Use (not currently listed as an allowable use), and 2) a request for a Conditional Use Permit to permit an indoor shooting range at 6001 167th Ave NW. There are no proposed additional buildings; the Applicant would propose to construct improvements to the existing building_ The proposed text amendment would apply to all or a portion of the B-1 Business District, including the 167th Avenue Retail Node, the Alpine Drive Retail Node, and the River's Bend Retail Node among other areas. A copy of the City 's Official Zoning Map is available upon request to see all parcels that would be impacted. The City invites you to an opportunity to meet the current Applicant and provide you an opportunity to review the request in more detail and answer questions you have regarding the proposal. This is an additional opportunity for you to review the proposed development prior to the Public Hearing and be an integral part of the review of the request. Additionally, the City desires your feedback and ideas on how to develop a new set of standards for this type of use in this area, if the City is to consider allowing this type of use in this area.
