Mr. Anderson stated the telephones are paperless and have an LED screen that can be <br />programmed with staff names /numbers. In addition, the telephones will be the same throughout <br />the system so staff will know how to use all of them. Mr. Anderson stated the bid also includes <br />all tech time and training time, which he recommended all staff members participate in prior to <br />the change in telephone systems. <br />Mayor Strommen asked about the timeline if approved tonight. <br />Mr. Anderson stated if approved tonight, it can be installed in 30 days and out. He explained a <br />project manager would be assigned and then the system would need to be custom programmed <br />for the City and training scheduled. The conversion from a digital to an IP system can take place <br />within 30 seconds. <br />Councilmember Kuzma asked if this same telephone system will be added to Public Works. <br />Mr. Anderson stated IP telephones can be installed anywhere in the world if there is internet <br />connection with high fiber and data connection. <br />Councilmember Kuzma asked about paging. <br />Mr. Anderson explained that if the Public Works system already has paging, he can put in an IP <br />page adapter. <br />Fire Chief Kapler indicated Public Works does not have paging. <br />Councilmember Riley asked about having a maintenance contract. <br />IT Coordinator Fredrickson recommended that be included to provide technical support and <br />maintenance. <br />Mr. Anderson stated the City would get a substantial discount up front and he was able to <br />discount that cost further at the request of IT Coordinator. Fredrickson. He explained that if the <br />internet goes down, it does not impact the telephone system within the building as it runs over <br />the LAN. If the data network goes down, then the telephone system would also be down. He <br />explained how telephones outside of the building would run on the internet and integrate with the <br />City's system. <br />The consensus of the Council was to support staff's recommendation to purchase an Integra <br />telephone system. <br />2.03: Discuss Pricing Strategy for Inventory of City -owned Land to be Listed by CBRE <br />(Portions were closed to the public) <br />Assistant to the City Administrator Brama explained the Council is asked to provide direction to <br />CBRE regarding pricing strategy for City -owned land available for development by the private <br />sector.
