' Performg~ce Standards - Signs § 9.12 <br /> <br /> Subd. 12 Porta.p-~el~. Port. a-Panels may be used in commercial ~ype <br />districts ~'ith a special use permit issued by the zoning officer for ten day period~, <br />but limited to three thnes a year per business. <br /> Subd. 1~ Private tra/fic sign~ Private traffic d/rect/ona] signs shall <br />not exceed six square feet in area. <br /> Subd. 14 Projecting signs. No projecting sign shall be permitted in <br />any distr/ct. <br /> <br /> Sub& 15 Roof signs. Roof signs are prohibited, except in commercial <br />type districts. The type of roof signs permitted in the commercial districts shall be <br />parallel to the outside wall of the building and project on}y 15 feet about the roofline <br />of the structure. This additional height, however, shall not be considered as part of <br />the wall area and shall not warrant additional sign area. The supporting <br />members of a roof sign shE] appear to be free of any extra bracing, angle iron, guy <br />wires, cables, etc. The supports shall appear to be an architectural and integral <br />part of the building. Supporting columns of round, square or shaped steel <br />members may be erected if requ/red bracing, visible to the public, is minim/zed or <br />covered. <br /> Subd. 16 Temporary signs. The following are the only type of <br />temporars' signs permitted un]ess other types are specifically allowed in the <br />indiv/dua] zoning districts. <br /> <br /> a. Banners, pennants and whirling devices, or any such sign <br /> resembling the same, are prohibited from use within the <br /> except when used as an integral part of the design of a building or <br /> when used in conjunction with grand openings (the initial <br /> commencement of business) or when allowed by the pro~-isions of <br /> this ordinance. In the case of grand openings, banners and <br /> pennants shall be allowed for the week (maximum ten days) of <br /> said grand opening. In other cases, a specie permit shE] be <br /> issued for ten day per, ods, hut limited to three times a year per <br /> businesses. <br /> <br /> b. Campaign signs posted by a bona fide candidate for political <br /> office, or by a person or group promoting a political issue or a <br /> political candidate may be placed in any d/st.-qc~, subject ~o <br /> requ/rement that the mazdrnnr~ size in any distric:, be 32 square <br /> feet. Such signs sba1] be removed in seven days ~ollom%~ the <br /> election. A deposi~ of $15.00 shall be received by ~he City of <br /> P~amsey before any signs ma>' be pos%ed.
