This document includes a list of Legislative priorities specifically related to the City of <br />Ramsey. Upon adoption by the City Council, Ramsey's Legislative Platform is forwarded to our County, State and Federal elected officials. Additionally, this <br />document is used internally by Staff as a supplemental work plan for 2014. <br />Commonly, the City is able to provide additional support to their adopted Legislative Initiatives by passing Resolutions explicitly backing (or not) specific bills <br />under consideration in the State Legislature. <br />Background (case) <br />This general subject was originally before the Council on January 14, 2014; at which time, the attached Legislative Initiatives were adopted. <br />Notification: <br />NA <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />Below is a list of City Resolutions along with corresponding State bill filing numbers. <br />(1) Street Improvement District Authority for Cities <br />Providing Cities with an Additional Tool to Build and Maintain City Streets <br />State HF 745/SF 607, Ramsey Resolution Number 14-03-055 <br />[staff recommendation to APPROVE *J <br />(2) Alternative Publication Options for Cities <br />Improving and Increasing Access to Government Information <br />State HF 1286/ SF 1152, Ramsey Resolution Number 14-03-056 <br />[staff recommendation to APPROVE* <br />(3) Exemption from Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA) Rulemaking Process <br />Removing the City from the MRCCA rulemaking process <br />Anoka County developed a suggested Resolution template <br />No State HF/SF number or City Resolution number exists <br />[staff recommendation NO ACTION* *J <br />*Does reflect the City's adopted Legislative Platform. <br />**Does not reflect the City's adopted Legislative Platform. This item was included for transparency purposes. Anoka County developed this Resolution <br />template and submitted to the City for consideration.
