The Consultant for the Mississippi Skyway Project shall perform project development and <br />preliminary design, final design, including plans, specifications, and an estimate of probable <br />construction costs, based on the information contained in this RFP and Statement of Work. <br />Throughout the duration of design of this project, the Consultant must perform substantial and <br />continuous coordination and communication with the following entities: <br />• Various City Departments <br />• Public and private utility organizations <br />• Various Public Agencies, including MnDOT and the Metropolitan Council <br />• Others as required <br />It is anticipated that property may have to be identified for right-of-way acquisition to <br />accomplish the project goals. <br />The Consultant shall also perform all of the support services needed to obtain all agency <br />approvals that are needed on this project. <br />Section 7. Project Development Review and Preliminary Design Phase <br />The City and Consultant will work together to develop design concepts for the project and assess <br />their functionality as well as aesthetic value. Structure types for the bridge and ramps will be <br />developed, assessed and compared. Appropriate studies such as the field survey, right-of-way <br />research, geotechnical analysis and environmental study will be undertaken and the results <br />incorporated. The entire project will be completed in English units. <br />A. Progress Meetings: The City and the Consultant Project Managers will meet <br />periodically as required (typically at two-week intervals during the project). These Progress <br />Meetings will be used to coordinate the work effort and resolve problems, and the meetings will <br />be required throughout the duration of the design of the project. The meetings will review the <br />following: <br />Recording and distributing meeting minutes by the Consultant. <br />Activities completed since the last meeting. <br />• Review of updated construction cost estimates. <br />• Problems encountered. <br />• Activities required by the next progress meeting. <br />• Solutions for unresolved and anticipated problems and any late activities. <br />• Information or items required from other agencies and discuss agency coordination. <br />• Other required meetings are described in the following sections. <br />• <br />• <br />B. Review of Project Data <br />1. The selected consultant will be required to review any applicable MnDot and <br />Federal pedestrian bridge design manuals to confirm that the Final Design best satisfies the <br />City's goals for this project. <br />2. The Consultant, together with the CITY will be required to organize a minimum <br />of two (2) public information meetings add TOD requirements with the local <br />neighborhoods and businesses, and various private and public agencies to discuss <br />project issues. <br />RFP 4 <br />Mississippi Skyway <br />
