Ramsey2040: What Will Make Ramsey Thrive as a Balanced Community?
pa.nutel
4•U '
III/f'MEMl'InEliAt,s.;: ,11, tail* eau .S►,l
Progress Report: 167/47 Node
Ramsey is home to a diverse land use and tax base. The
City desires to check in with residents and stakeholders as
we look at how the community will evolve over the next
several years. Where will opportunities for residential,
shopping, and employment exist? Where will areas remain
as they are today? How will Ramsey make connections to
these areas? How will the area around your home or
business look in the future?
Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.
Ramsey Municipal Center, Alexander Ramsey Room
For more information, please visit
www.cityoframsey.com/ComprehensivePlan or contact
Tim Gladhill, Development Services Manager, at 763-
576-4308 or tgladhill@cityoframsey.com.
The City Council's Strategic Plan identified a comprehensive land use
review of the retail node located at the intersection of 167th Avenue and
Highway 47. On January 16, the City hosted a follow up meeting with
adjacent property owners, stakeholders, and residents of the surrounding
area to recap previous property owner and citizen engagement meetings.
Staff presented the approved Statement of Goals and sought feedback
from participants on potential projects and activities that could help
facilitate the goal to improve and/or remove blight from properties of
concern and encourage sustainable market -driven redevelopment of the
167/47 Node that will benefit the entire City of Ramsey. The vision of
the area is one of a mixture of residential and retail uses.
demina
@v os
sA
•
%1
•
The group identified four general categories to focus on and prioritized
in the following order:
1) Rooftops,
2) Identity and Marketing,
3) Safety & Transit,
4) Users/Vacancy Rates.
A more detailed analysis will be brought to a future City Council Meeting
as well as impacted advisory boards. For more information on this project,
please contact Ted LaFrance, Economic Development Manager, at 763-
433-9830 or tlafrance@ci.ramsey.mn.us.
Detailed Report Information for the Above Projects
For more information on these projects that have received Planning Commission and City Council approval and are under
construction or nearing construction, please feel free to contact Tim Gladhill, Development Services Manager, at 763-576-4308
or tladhill@ci.ramsey.mn.us or by visiting www.cityoframsey.com/planning-division.
