15501 Basalt Street Northwest
Ramsey, Minnesota 55303
October 4, 1991

Kay McAloney
Personnel Coordinator at
Ramsey Municipal Center
15153 Nowthen Boulevard Northwest
Ramsey, Minnesota 55303

Dear Ms. McAloney:

I am applying for the position of Commissioner on the Economic Development Board.
believe my experience and education have prepared me to be successful in this position.

I have been working in the financial industry for over four years. In that period of time, I
have held a number of positions which have allowed me to gain valuable experience in
sales, customer service, support services, and management. For example, in my current
position as Sales & Service Specialist, specific areas of responsibility include developing
motivational programs for over 60 branches to meet annual and long range corporate
objectives, creating incentive programs and maintaining them within assigned budget
levels, creating effective trac 'king and feedback methods, and using the results to enhance
additional corporate objectives and information.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Admirdstration from the University
of Minnesota - Curtis L. Carlson School of Management. During the time that I was
attending the UniversiB,, I began my career with TCF Bank. Employment with TCF gave
me an excellent opportunity to apply the ideas and principles from the classroom, and
allowed me to continue to fund a large portion of my education myself. While working and
pursuing my degree, l also married, began to raise two children, and purchased a home.
My desire to succeed and continued support from my family, inspired me to complete my
degree through night school with no loss to the quality, of my work and family relations.

Through mv experience and education, I have been exposed to a wide array of people in
many different environments. I have su'ong interpersonal s ~k/_lls and am an effective
communicator. Mx' continued development in this area will be a tremendous asset to both
the City of Ramsey and myseff.

I would appreciate the oppormnit-y to meet with you about this position and am available at
your convenience. Please feel free to contact me at home at (612) 421-5387 or at my place
of employment (612) 370-7122. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Steven M. Christenson
