3) T.H. #47 Traffic Concerns

Councilmember Kurak explained that she and Councilmember Cook had an opportunity to meet
with citizens who live off T.H. #47 and Bunker Lake Boulevard. The residents had several
questions, which they did not have answers to. She suggested at the meeting that it might be
beneficial to hold a work session as a larger group, including Dennis Berg, a representative from
Anoka, and a representative from MnDOT so that they can answer some of the questions the
Council is not able to answer since some of the big problems are in Anoka.

Mayor Gamec explained that the biggest problem has to do with the County board and the
fairgrounds. They really have to key in with Anoka on the issue. It is a very touchy subject with
the residents along the corridor.

Consensus of the City Council was to direct staff to meet with Anoka staff to discuss the issue
and to schedule a public forum.

Councihnember Strommen stated that it would be beneficial to hold a work session and a public
forum to discuss all transportation issues.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried.

The regular meeting of the City Council adjourned at 10:53 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Nanci Libor
Recording Secretary
TimeSaver Qff Site Secretarial, Inc.

James E.
