PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 25, 2003, <br />at the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Mirmesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Todd Cook <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br /> <br />Also Prescnt: <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Givom~a Reed <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Police Chief James Way <br /> <br />CAI,L TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Cool< called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:05 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Nolle. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Consider Ending Probationary Period for Police Chief <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed explained that Jim Way was promoted to Chief of Police <br />efffective November 13, 2002. Mr. Way has successfully completed his one-year probationary <br />period and the City Admi~.fistrator recommends that Mr. Way be retained as Chief of Police. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler stated that the City is changing and growing very <br />quickly and lie was one hundred percent confident that Mr. Way was the right person to meet the <br />City needs ol'the I'uture. He had very high marks for Mr. Way. <br /> <br />Cotlncihnembcr Pearson stated that he has not had the opportunity to work a lot with Mr. Way, <br />but hc does attend the Joint Law Enforcement meetings.
