4.01.1: Planning Commission Meeting Minutes Dated January 9, 2014 <br />Motion by Commissioner VanScoy, seconded by Commissioner Brauer, to approve the following <br />minutes as presented: Planning Commission Meeting Minutes dated January 9, 2014. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners VanScoy, Brauer, Bauer, and <br />Maul. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Field and Nosan. <br />5. PUBLIC HEARINGS /COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />5.03: Discussion: Review New Information Related to Ordinance #14 -01 (Indoor <br />Commercial Recreation/Indoor Shooting Range Zoning Amendment) and <br />Resolutions #14-01-005 & #14 -01 -006 (Request for a Conditional Use Permit at 6001 <br />167th Ave NW) <br />Presentation <br />Development Services Manager Gladhill presented the staff report stating the City had received <br />additional comments regarding the request from Total Defense for an Indoor Shooting Range at <br />6001 167 Ave NW. He noted that Staff wanted to update the Planning Commission on the new <br />comments received this week from Little Me Child Care and others prior to the City Council <br />reviewing the Planning Commission Recommendation from January 9, 2014. He requested the <br />Commission discuss the matter and direct staff how to proceed. <br />Commission Business <br />Commissioner Bauer questioned who had been notified of the Ordinance amendment. <br />Development Services Manager Gladhill reported all property owners within 750 feet of the <br />subject property were notified along with all businesses within the adjacent business node. <br />Chairperson Levine explained this evening was not a public hearing, but he opened the floor for <br />brief comments. He reiterated that there would be a public input meeting on Monday, February <br />10, 2014 at Rum River Hills Golf Course. <br />Development Services Manager Gladhill encouraged the public to show up at Rum River Hills <br />Golf Course on Monday or attend the City Council meeting on Tuesday to provide further input <br />on the matter. <br />Amber Brick, Little Me Child Center, 1309 Jonquil Street in Andover, explained she was out of <br />state for the Planning Commission's previous meeting. She had concern with the proposed use <br />given its close proximity to her child care center and would continue taking action against the <br />City.
