1) Planning Commission public hearing and regular meeting minutes dated January 2, 2003. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Brauer, Reeve, <br />Shepherd, Van Scoy and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS/COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case#l: Appointment of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for Year 2003 <br /> Presentation <br /> <br />Principal Planner Trudgeon indicated that at the beginning of each year, the Commissions and <br />Boards are required to appoint officers for the upcoming year. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Watson to appoint Michael Nixt <br />as Chairperson for 2003. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Commissioners Johnson, Watson, Brauer, Reeve, Shepherd, and <br />Van Scoy. Voting No: None. Absent: None. Chairperson Nixtabstained. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Johnson to appoint Mike Reeve as Vice <br />Chairperson for 2003. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Brauer, Shepherd, <br />Van Scoy and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: None. Commissioner Reeve abstained. <br /> <br />Case #2: Request for a Home Occupation Permit; Case of Janis Day <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald explained that the City received an application from Janis Day for a <br />home occupation permit to establish a one-chair hair salon in her home on the property located at <br />16321 Ferret Street. She advised that City Code restricts home occupations to 20 percent of the <br />gross floor area of the home. The room in which the home occupation will take place is a <br />bedroom, which equates to 5% of the gross floor area. She indicated Janis will be the sole <br />employee and she expects to service a maximum o£4-6 clients per day. She stated Janis would <br />operate Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Associate Planner Wald <br />indicated City Staff recommends approval of this request. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt opened the Public Hearing at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br />There was no citizen input <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt closed the Public Hearing at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/February 6, 2003 <br /> Page 2 of 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
