Motion by Commissioner Nosan, seconded by Commissioner Bauer, to approve the following <br />minutes as presented: Planning Commission Meeting Minutes dated February 6, 2014. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Nosan, Bauer, and VanScoy. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Brauer, Field and Maul. <br />5. PUBLIC HEARINGS /COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />5.01: Public Hearing: Resolutions #14 -03 -042 & #14 -03 -043: Consider Request for a <br />Conditional Use Permit for Beekeeping on the Property Located at 16101 <br />Turnberry Turn NW; Case of Beth Edwards <br />Public Hearing <br />Chairperson Levine called the public hearing to order at 7:01 p.m. <br />Presentation <br />City Planner Anderson presented the staff report explaining the applicant, Beth Edwards, was <br />seeking a Conditional Use Permit to maintain up to two (2) honeybee colonies at 16101 <br />Turnbeny Turn NW. Initially there would be one (1) honeybee colony; however, should this <br />colony successfully overwinter, the applicant would split it into two separate colonies in 2015. <br />Staff discussed the proposed location for the colonies and recommended approval of the <br />conditional use permit for beekeeping for Beth Edwards. <br />Citizen Input <br />Elizabeth Edwards, 16101 Turnberry Turn, appreciated Staff's thorough report and explained she <br />was present to answer questions from the Commission. <br />Motion by Commissioner Bauer, seconded by Commissioner Field, to close the public hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Bauer, Field, Brauer, Nosan, <br />and VanScoy. Voting No: None. Absent: Maul. <br />Chairperson Levine closed the public hearing closed at 7:06 p.m. <br />Commission Business <br />Commissioner Brauer recused himself from discussion on this item as he was considering <br />pursuing a bee colony as well. <br />Commissioner VanScoy supported the request. <br />Planning Commission/March 6, 2014 <br />Page 2 of 9 <br />
