EDA BUSINESS

Case #1: Line Item Clarification for Past and Present EDA Budgets

Ms. Wald reviewed the issues the EDA had with line items within the EDA Budget. Ms. Wald
reviewed questions pertaining to the Golf Tournament and noted the EDA spent $2,100 from the
budget this year, which was average.

Member Gromberg questioned why there was a $6,000 Miscellaneous line item.

Ms. Wald indicated there were various expenses for subscriptions to business and real-estate
publications, printing the Ramsey Messenger, and any other marketing or advertising pieces.

Member Kiefer asked if the $6,000 in Miscellaneous should be part of Case//2 and the Towne
Center Promotional efforts.

Ms. Wald stated that it could be one project coded to this line item.

Member Gromberg suggested the Miscellaneous line item be broken down further or given a
different name.

Ms. Wald indicated she would make this suggestion to the Finance Officer to be named
Miscellaneous Marketing Initiatives.

Member Gromberg asked why the EDA paid for heating of the Old Town Hall building.

Ms. Wald noted that many years ago it was decided to fund the heating and electrical expenses
for Old Town Hall to the EDA fund.

Member Kiefer questioned why there hasn't been any donations to the Ramsey Business Expo.

Ms. Wald clarified that the Ramsey Business Expo is now called the Environmental Expo and is
funded by Ramsey Elementary School and the City. The Environmental Expo is appropriate
funds within the City's general budget.

Member Kiefer questioned the line item regarding Land.

Ms. Wald noted this line item was allotting $20,000 for the EDA to utilize to purchase land in
2004.

Member Gromberg suggested the Land line item be clarified as $20,000 of funds remaining, as
the purchase of land from Sauter is not correct.

Ms. Wald noted the requested change.

Economic Development Authority/November 12, 2003
Page 2 of 5
