Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #14-04-075 RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTIAL PAYMENT TO DRYDEN EXCAVATING INC. FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #13-15, VANADIUM STREET CULVERT REPLACEMENT WHEREAS, on October 22, 2013 the City received quotes for the replacement of a failing 48-inch round corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert conveying stormwater runoff under Vanadium Street for County Ditch #14 in the northeast section of the City; and WHEREAS, the quote of Dryden Excavating Inc. in the amount of $32,455.16 was the lowest responsible quote; and WHEREAS, in December of 2013 the Engineering Technician IV inspected the completed work and recommended partial payment to Dryden Excavating Inc. in the amont of $28,129.92; and WHEREAS, prior to December 31, 2013, $0 had been paid to Dryden Excavating for work on Improvement Project #13-15; and WHEREAS, partial payment in the amount of $28,129.92 was approved with the year- end bills and was issued on December 31, 2013; and WHEREAS, a resolution approving partial payment was not adopted by the City Council at the time partial payment was issued on December 31, 2013; and WHEREAS, a follow-up resolution was not adopted by the City Council at their next regularly scheduled meeting on January 14, 2014. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the City Council hereby authorizes partial payment to Dryden Excavating Inc. for Improvement Project #13-15 in the amount of $28,129.92. 2) That the City Council hereby accepts the project and authorizes the Mayor or City Administrator to sign the release form for this payment. 3) That the total amount of this payment was previously paid on the date of December 31, 2013. 4) That the City of Ramsey Finance Department will be provided a signed copy of this resolution.
