CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 04/22/2014 <br />By: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />4. 8. <br />Title <br />Approve Letter of Support in regard to Anoka County's Grant Applications for the Federal Transportation <br />Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Discretionary Grant <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: The purpose of this item is to gain Council approval to send a letter in support of Anoka County <br />requesting two separate TIGER grants for the TH 10 Corridor. <br />Background: Staff received communication from Doug Fischer, Transportation Division Manager/County <br />Engineer. His email states that Anoka County is soliciting two separate federal TIGER (Transportation Investment <br />Generating Economic Recovery) grants on the TH 10 Corridor. The first grant will be a capital request for <br />construction funds to complete the TH 10/Armstrong Boulevard Interchange. The second grant will be for planning <br />funds to take the new concept plan for the Thurston and Fairoak intersections and develop them through the <br />preliminary engineering and environmental document stages.
