July 29, 2003
Ms. Sandy Fecht
Department of Natural Resources
500 Lafayette Road
St. Paul, MN 55155
Dear Sandy:
15J53 Nowthen Boulevard NW • Ramsey, Minnesota 55303
City Hall: (763) 427 -1410 • Fax: (763) 427 -5543
www.ci.ramsey.mn.us
Enclosed please find two public hearing notices regarding proposed Comprehensive Plan
Amendments in the Mississippi Critical River area. One of the amendments would
change the future land use map from Places to Work to Low Density Residential. This
area was changed from Low Density Residential to Places to Work in 2002. After
discussion with the neighborhood, the City is requesting that the land use revert back to
Low Density Residential.
The second amendment would change portions of property along the Elk River/Ramsey
border from Low Density Residential. The land proposed to be changed has frontage
along Hwy. 10 and the City desires to have that land guided appropriately for its location
along the busy Highway 10 corridor.
The City Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing on August 7, 2003. It is
expected that the City Council will consider the proposed amendments on August 26,
2003.
The City would appreciate any comments you have in regards to the proposed
amendments. Please contact me at (763) 433 -9843. Thank you.
Respe tfully,
Patrick Trddgeon, AICP
Assistant Community Development Director
