Observations /Alternatives: <br />Staff would like to point out that, if the committee does decide to go with one of the lighted options, we can expect <br />more requests to retro fit existing crosswalks in the city. Also, we have the jurisdiction to install one of these <br />systems on our roadways, but they may or may not be acceptable to use on county or state roads. Staff would also <br />recommend using the same lights consistently throughout our road system. <br />Funding Source: <br />General Fund <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends using the pedestrian activated crosswalk system, if it's the committees intent to install lighting <br />systems at select crosswalk locations..
