City of Ramsey 2030 Comprehensive Plan <br />Appendix A: Community Background <br />Economic Overview <br />The economic health of a community plays a critical role to encourage and maintain a high standard of <br />living and a desirable place to live for existing residents but even more importantly for attracting new <br />residents. Ramsey has a strong economy and can be considered a "full-service" community with a <br />relatively high percentage of local employment opportunities. <br />The following information and tables identifies current employment trends and other applicable factors. <br />Data used is from the 2000 Census, Metropolitan Council and the MnPro community profile last updated <br />in 2005. <br />Employee and Employers <br />Table 3-8 illustrates historical and forecasted employment figures for Ramsey. The City will add a <br />number of jobs by 2030. Table 3-10 identifies the mode of transportation that employees <br />use to access their jobs.
