COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br />Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood stated the number of patrons at the <br />skating rink facilities reflect the very cold weather. The final numbers reflected 2,835 people at <br />the Ramsey Elementary warming house, and 2,624 at Central Park for a total of 5,459 rink <br />patrons counted. Riverblood added that last year the total was 5,953. He added that sliding hill <br />use at Alpine Park however, was very popular, perhaps due to the frequent snow. <br />Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood informed the Commission that the <br />Mississippi Skyway design project was approved by City Council on Tuesday evening, and there <br />will be a lot of activity associated with this, and that the project must be complete by December <br />of 2014. <br />Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood briefed the Commission on the <br />Elmcrest Park community building project. Chairperson Olsen asked if the cold winter delayed <br />the start, and Riverblood replied in the affirmative. <br />On the Central Park to Alpine Drive Trail, Riverblood informed the Commission he thought the <br />tree clearing would begin next week, and the entire trail should be available for use in May of <br />2014. <br />7. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Mobry, seconded by Commissioner Fyten, to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried.
