City of Ramsey 2030 Comprehensive Plan <br />Appendix A: Community Background <br />Community Facilities <br />The City of Ramsey offers a variety of public services to its residents. The new Municipal Center was <br />recently constructed in the Ramsey Town Center, providing a central location in the community for city <br />services. The Municipal Center houses the community development, engineering, planning and zoning, <br />building permits, public works, finance, human resources, and other ancillary service departments. <br />Police <br />The Ramsey Police Depaitinent is located within the Municipal Center. Currently the police department <br />consists of 20 licensed officers. The Police Department also employs a full-time Crime Prevention <br />Specialist, one full-time Community Service Officers, 15 Reserve Volunteers and three office support <br />staff. <br />Fire <br />The City of Ramsey is also served by two fire stations. Each station holds an engine, tanker, grass truck, <br />and rescue truck. The Ramsey Fire Department consists of a total of 40 paid on-call firefighters, as well as <br />a career Fire Chief and a career Fire Inspector. The department responds to approximately 400 calls a year <br />to attend to fire suppression, heavy rescue, water rescue, confined space, rapid intervention, hazardous <br />material, disaster management, fire prevention, and any other events that may occur requiring their <br />assistance. <br />Fire Station #3 currently provides service to the City of Nowthen and is located in the recently <br />incorporated City of Nowthen. On the future establishment of a Nowthen Fire Department, Ramsey will <br />explore options to construct a station #3 within Ramsey. <br />Public Schools <br />The City of Ramsey contains two school districts. Northwest Ramsey is located within the Elk River <br />School District boundaries, and the rest of the community lies within the Anoka Hennepin District #11. <br />Currently the Ramsey Elementary School is located within the City of Ramsey, , at Nowthen Boulevard. <br />Ramsey is also home to the PACT Charter School, a K-12 facility located at 7250 East Ramsey Parkway. <br />Ramsey is currently working to secure a location for a middle school.
