2004.
D. PROPOSED SANITARY SEWER TRUNK SYSTEM
In order to serve the unsewered portions of the City of Ramsey it will be necessary to
extend the City's sanitary sewer trunk sewer system to individual sewer sub -districts as shown on
Figure 3.
By utilizing aerial topography the existing unsewered subdivisions and undeveloped
properties south of Trott Brook were evaluated to determine drainage areas. Based on this
evaluation, proposed sewer sub -district boundaries were established so that each drainage area
will have a point to collect sanitary sewer flows into the trunk sewer system. It is proposed that a
local sewer system be developed to ultimately convey sanitary sewer flows to the trunk sewer
system.
E. RECOMMENDATION AND IMPLEMENTATION
The extension of sanitary sewer will be necessary for the City of Ramsey to grow with
urban densities. Therefore, as growth occurs it is recommended that the sanitary sewer trunk
system is extended as shown on Figure 3.
The implementation of the sanitary sewer trunk system extensions is dependent on the
rate and location of future growth. The extension of sanitary sewer east of the Town Center
development and south of the existing MUSA line will not require the extension of the City's
trunk sewer system. The trunk sewer system will need to be extended to provide sanitary sewer
service to the areas west of the Town Center development and north of the current MUSA line.
Currently, there is development pressure just south of Trott Brook along Nowthen
Boulevard and at the commercial nod located at the intersection of T.H. 47 and 167th Avenue. In
order to provide sanitary sewer service to these areas it will be necessary to extend the trunk
sanitary sewer system to both areas. Figure 4 and Figure 5 show the proposed sewer extensions
for the proposed northwest and northeast service areas.
City of Ramsey Page ES -4
Comprehensive Sanitary Sewer Plan - 2004 Prepared by Bolton & Menk, Inc.
