PUBLIC HEARINGS /COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />5.01: Receive Update on the Status of the City's Strategic Plan <br />Presentation <br />City Administrator Ulrich presented the Commission with a brief update on the City's Strategic <br />Plan. The goals for the coming year were reviewed in detail along with the City's plan to <br />continue its financial stability, while working to connect the community. It was noted economic <br />development would be key in maintaining the City's financial stability. He was pleased that the <br />Armstrong Interchange project over Highway 10 would be completed. He appreciated the <br />Commission's time and asked for comments or questions. <br />Chairperson Levine thanked staff for the update. He was pleased with the direction the City of <br />Ramsey was heading. <br />5.02: Review Sketch Plan for Pine Ridge Development Located at 18045 Nowthen <br />Boulevard NW; Case of Gerald Davis <br />Presentation <br />City Planner Anderson presented the staff report stating the purpose of this case was to review a <br />submitted Sketch Plan for a seven (7) lot single family subdivision located at the northern <br />boundary of City limits on the east side of Nowthen Boulevard, which is generally known as <br />18045 Nowthen Boulevard NW. The Commission was being asked to review the general layout <br />of the proposed lots, streets /cul -de -sacs and overall use of the property and provide feedback on <br />the design. Staff recommended that the applicant proceed in preparing the Preliminary Plat and <br />submitting an application for a Variance to lot width standards. <br />Commission Business <br />Commissioner VanScoy believed it would be impossible to split the two back lots. He <br />questioned the size of the cul -de -sac. <br />City Planner Anderson stated he had worked with the applicant on this matter and at this time, <br />the cul -de -sac was right at 600 feet. <br />Chairperson Levine supported the cul -de -sac being extended to assist the applicant complying <br />with City standards for lot widths. <br />Planning Commission/May 1, 2014 <br />Page 2 of 8 <br />
