Commissioner Brauer commented the cul -de -sac width or length could also be reconsidered to <br />bring the lot widths closer to code requirements. <br />Gerald Davis, 6388 178 Lane, appreciated the Commission's consideration and thanked staff <br />for their assistance. He would prefer to create six square lots, but noted the cul -de -sac was <br />proving tricky. <br />Chairperson Levine believed that staff could work with the applicant to improve the lot width <br />situation prior to the Preliminary Plat being submitted to the City. <br />By consensus, the Planning Commission directed the applicant to begin preparing a Preliminary <br />Plat and Variance request for review. <br />5.03: Consider Request for Site Plan Approval for a Building Expansion on the Property <br />Located at 14040 Azurite Street NW; Case of MMI Precision <br />Presentation <br />Development Services Manager Gladhill presented the staff report noting MMI Precision <br />currently operates out of a 10,000 square foot facility located at 14040 Azurite Street NW. Due <br />to the growth of their manufacturing business, they have submitted an application for Site Plan <br />approval for a 6,600 square foot building expansion. The expansion plans were reviewed in <br />detail with the Commission and staff recommended approval of the site plan contingent upon <br />compliance with Staff Review File dated April 14, 2014 and execution of a Development Permit. <br />Commission Business <br />Shawn Martin, 2070 240 Lane, explained his business was growing and its current location <br />needed to expand. <br />Chairperson Levine commented he toured MMI and was impressed by this company. He was <br />pleased that Mr. Martin was keeping his business in the City of Ramsey. <br />Commissioner Nosan congratulated Mr. Martin on his success. <br />Motion by Commissioner VanScoy, seconded by Commissioner Brauer, to recommend that City <br />Council approve the Site Plan contingent upon compliance with the Staff Review File dated <br />April 14, 2014 and execution of a Development Permit. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners VanScoy, Brauer, Field, and <br />Nosan. Voting No: None.
