1) Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes dated November 14, 2002 <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Johns, Shryock, LaMere, Olds, Ostrum, and <br />Rolfe. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook thanked the Commission for all the great work done with the Parks <br />Commission and commended Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos for the work that was put into the <br />information given to the Commission. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook turned the Chair over to Vice-Chairperson Johns. <br /> <br />The Commission thanked Councilmember Cook for all his hard work. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Select Chair and Vice Chair of the Park and Recreation Commission <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos indicated the purpose of this case is to nominate a Chair and <br />Vice Chair in light of Todd Cook's departure to serve as Council member. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated staff could receive nominations by paper "ballot" and <br />tabulated by staff or by voice note - at which point Commissions would vote for the nominees. <br />The Commission may consider the term to be for 2003, or until the matter is taken up again. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Commission was to vote for a new Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson by paper <br />ballot. The Commission voted Jill Johns to Chairperson and Steve Ostrum to Vice-Chairperson. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner LaMere to accept the ballots with <br />Commissioner Johns appointed as Chairperson and Commissioner Ostrum as Vice-Chairperson. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Appoint Liaison to the EPTF and Schedule Joint Meeting with the Planning <br />Commission <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained the City Council established a task force to develop a <br />Tree Ordinance and other charges as assigned. This committee included a member of the Park <br />Commission as well as a Planning Commission member.
