November 30, 2004
15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW • Ramsey, Minnesota 55303
City Hall: (763) 427-1410 • Fax: (763) 427-5543
www.ci.ramsey.mn.us
Ms. Sandy Fecht
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
500 Lafayette Rd.
St. Paul, MN 55155
Dear Ms. Fecht:
I am in receipt of the September 2, 2004 letter from Russel M. Schultz, Acting Assistant
Director, DNR Water Section regarding an amendment to the Ramsey Comprehensive
Plan for property located along the Mississippi River. The subject property is about 50
acres in size and has been informally designated the "Hwy. 10 Mixed Use Area".
We have noted the comments and the conditions of approval and will apply them to the
future development of the site. At this time, there is no pending development for the site.
Prior to any development, a subdivision, site plan, and rezoning, will need to occur. The
City will notify the DNR as required of these applications when they are submitted to the
City.
The City Council approved the Comprehensive Plan Amendment on November 25, 2003
subject to approval by Metropolitan Council. (A copy of the resolution is attached). The
City will now put the land use change in effect. As mentioned previously, before any
development can occur on the land, the property owners will need to receive several land
use approvals from the City. The DNR will be notified of the proposals and the City will
apply the DNR and MNRRA standards as part of the approval process.
Please let me know if you need anything else in regards to this matter.
Respectfully,
CITY OF RAMSEY
/ vL
Patrick Trudgeon, AICP
Asst. Community Development Director
