o A public information meeting for area residents and businesses will be held from 6 - 7:30 pm on July 14th in the Municipal Center. o Project information is available on -line at www.cityoframsey.com/Riverdaledrive. • 2014 Street Maintenance Project (SMP) - o All sealcoating work is complete, except for miscellaneous pavement striping. o Sunwood Drive west of CSAH 5/Nowthen Blvd will receive a pavement overlay between June 30th and July 1 lth, weather permitting. • 2014 Street Maintenance Project (SMP) Phase 2 - o On June 24 the City Council approved sealcoating an additional 6 miles of City streets in 2014. o This work, which is currently being scheduled, will be completed by August 15 Charter Commission Meeting. The Charter Commission met on June 25 and discussed two items. Below are both cases; along with summarized outcomes: • Franchise Fee Ordinance. The Charter Commission made a motion to postpone indefinitely consideration of a franchise fee amendment to the City Charter. • Consideration of Amendment to Charter Section 8.4.5 — Counter Petitions to Council Initiated Improvements. The Charter Commission made a motion to instruct the City Attorney to draft an amendment to the City Charter to increase the counter petition threshold for Council initiated improvements from >50% to 60% or higher. As a result, in July (either 07/08 or 07/22), the Council will consider introducing an ordinance to amend City Charter language as proposed by the Charter Commission. Tournament Season in Ramsey. Last weekend was the Dirt Devil Softball Tournament at Central Park. Pictured is the Under 8 and U -10 girls `home team'. This coming weekend is Super Soccer Saturday, also at Central Park. Many tournaments bring in hundreds of visitors, most of which also patronage our local retailers — representing a benefit from park and trail investments. Development & Planning Commission Update.
