Councilmember Elvig inquired where the funds would come from to purchase the <br />property. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that the source of funding is included in the City's <br />CIP, which he did not have available at the meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that the only concern he had is that the City is looking at <br />potential shortfall in funds and he wants to make sure that the City can pay for the <br />property from a fund other than the general fund. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler noted that it is possible that the City cOuld receive some land <br />dedication as part of a future development. At this time, they would be exploring those <br />options. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated at this time the Council would be authorizing the site <br />selection process no the acquisition of property. <br /> <br />5) <br /> <br />List of Services Discussion and Adoption <br />The Public Safety Board recommended that the City Council adopt the current list of <br />services provided by the Fire Department adding fire prevention, education, inspection <br />and investigation, mass casualty, state how high/low rescue will be provided, emergency <br />response, planning and exercise. <br /> <br />6) <br /> <br />Permit Burning Process <br />The Public Safety Board recommended that the City Council direct staff to draft an <br />ordinance to amend City Code to change the hours for recreational fn'es to noon to 6:00 <br />a.m. on weekends and federal holidays. <br /> <br />7) <br /> <br />Station Numbering/Identification Discussion <br />The Public Safety Board recommended that the City Council change the fire station on <br />Armstrong Boulevard to Fire Station No. 1. <br /> <br />8) <br /> <br />Department Structure Discussion <br />No action was necessary since the issue was dealt with during the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />9) <br /> <br />Students Walking to School <br />Police Chief Way reported that there have been no incidences relating to the added <br />activity of more children walking to sChool.
