Councilmember Zimmerman replied that this is such a large issue that they need to act as <br />a City Council as a whole. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec agreed that all of the Councilmembers needed to be involved throughout <br />the process. <br /> <br />Ed Hamilton, 6615 Highway #10, Ramsey, stated that just today there was an article in <br />the paper about the former commissioner and administrator ofMnDOTand how they are <br />going to be investigated. He felt that the money was being spent prematurely. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that they need consultants who know what the <br />highway department wants, because the City Staff and Council are not experts on those <br />issues. The City will not spend more money than they have to and he was in favor of <br />going ahead with the contract. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to authorize the City <br />Administrator to enter into a contractual arrangement with The Tinklenberg Group for <br />transportation consulting services. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, Elvig, Pearson, <br />Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Schedule Board of Review Meeting <br /> <br />The Board of Review meeting was scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2003 <br /> <br />2) Park and Ride <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that MnDOT has frozen all funds for the park and ride facilities. Currently <br />the City has $38,000 in expenditures in consulting fees based on the $400,000 grant received. He <br />will be meeting with MnDOT in regards to the promises of money, which he hopes will be <br />reinstated. More information will be made available at the end of next week. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted that the grant the City received was a federal grant not a grant <br />directly from MnDOT.
