Councilmember <br />Strommen replied that she thinks the study of the gun club is a very worthwhile study, but <br />separate from a feasibility study. Councilmember Cook stated that the study would then <br />have to be done at a cost to the City: Councilmember Kurak replied that it would always <br />be a cost to the property owners because why would the City initiate such a study on their <br /> <br />own. <br /> <br />Motion failed. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Cook and Pearson. <br />Voting No: Councilmembers Kurak, Strommen, and Zimmerman. Abstain: <br />Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />2003 Street Maintenance Program <br />The Public Works Committee directed staff to bring back the 2003 Street Maintenance <br />Program in February to continue discussion of assessing large lots within a neighborhood <br />and assessing commercial property. <br /> <br />$) <br /> <br />Campaign Signage <br />Staff reported that they are dealing with the situation of campaign signs in the fight-Of_ <br />way and this situation needs to be reviewed. The Public Works Committee requested that <br />the issue be brought back to the February Public Works Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilrnember Zimmerman, to ratify the <br />recommendations of the Public Works Committee on cases 1, 2, 4, and 5. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, Zimmerman, Cook, <br />Elvig, Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: Report from Personnel-Committee <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee met on February 11, 2003, to discuss the following cases: <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Consider Appointment to Parks and Recreation Commission <br />The interviews were continued until February 25, 2003. <br /> <br />Report Regarding Status of Human Resources Manager pOsition, Recommending <br />Appointment of Interim HR Manager and Approval of Contract with Labor <br />Relations Associates, Inc. for Recruitment Services <br />The Personnel Committee. recommended that the citY Council adopt Resolution #03-02- <br />043 attthorizing the City Administrator to hire Giovam~a Reed as a temporary employee <br />to serve as Interim Human Resources Manager effective February 18, 2003, and adopt <br /> <br />City Council/February 11, 2003 <br /> Page 11 of 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
