With the recent QCTV reorganization process underway —QCTV began analyzing regular
programming with member Cities for potential improvements. All other QCTV cities still conduct
a bi- weekly `Council Update' style of programming. In which, a previous Council meeting is
rehashed by a select couple of Councilmembers at the QCTV studio. QCTV was impressed with
the change that Ramsey made in late 2013 (i.e. `Video Edition' of the Ramsey Resident) and has
elected to utilize Ramsey's program as a model for other cities —with modifications and
improvements.
Moving forward, QCTV is proposing to halt and replace the existing Ramsey Resident Video
Edition (along with other member Cities' Council Update programs). QCTV is proposing a new,
consistent, and improved program for all member cites. The official name of the new program is
unknown at this point.
Generally, the new program will include more professional input and pizazz from QCTV
staff. QCTV will be taking more ownership in the programming process. In summary, based on
discussion with QCTV staff, this new program will result in a more professional product for our
residents, and a much more comfortable shooting process for program talent.
Below are preliminary details. An official proposal will be presented in the near future. If any
Councilmember has an objection to QCTV considering a new program method, please contact the
Administration Department.
Preliminary Details.
• 15 minute long program total
• 1 program per month (meaning, 1 -2 shoots per Councilmember per year)
• City AND community news /information for the upcoming month
• One interviewer /host (QCTV staff) and two interviewees (City officials)
• Similar format as a night show: conversational between the interviewer (i.e. Jay Leno) and
interviewees (Le. guest stars)
• Style is intentionally NOT reading a script to a camera (supposed to be natural)
• Style is Q &A regarding 2 -4 topics (questions are submitted ahead of time)
• Kurt Ulrich and Patrick Brama will be shooting a pilot /test version of the new program
later this month. It will be available for review in August.
The Residence at The COR. The City was recently notified The Residence at The COR may be
up for sale. The property is currently owned by Flaherty and Collins (F &C). F &C responded to
the City's inquiry and stated that they may sell the property, seek a partner in it, or keep it. F &C
is working with Cushman/NorthMarq on marketing the property for sale. The City and HRA did
financially play a role in the development of the project via three notes two of these notes, per
the development agreement, would be payable in full should the property be sold. The third note
may be assigned to a new owner. In short, sale of The Residence at The COR isn't necessarily a
bad thing for the City as two of the notes would be paid prior to being due. At last check, The
Residence at The COR posted a 79% occupation rate; which is ahead of the projected rent roll
schedule. Additionally, all rented units are being leased at, or above, pro -forma targets.
The City will continue to monitor this project.
Our Mission: To work together to responsibly grow our community, and to provide quality, cost - effective, and efficient government services
