Section 117-120 Sub. d is amended as following (additional indicated by underlined text; deletions indicated <br />by strikcthrough tcxt). <br />Accessory uses. (Subject to standards established in subsection (d) of this section and performance <br />standards established in article II division 6 of this chapter. This Section takes precedence over otr. <br />provisions of this Chapter as it relates to this District) <br />(1) Commercial or business buildings and structures for a use accessory to the principal use but such <br />use shall not exceed 30 percent of the gross floor space of the principal use unless otherwise <br />approved by the city council. <br />(2) Open and outdoor areas for display of goods for sale and rental. <br />(3) Temporary seasonal sales. <br />(4) Motor vehicle implement and recreational indoor storage when accessory to sales and service. <br />(5) Additional accessory use: Outdoor storage for materials and equipment accessory to the principal <br />use including seasonal storage of self-propelled marine equipment, under the following <br />conditions: <br />a. Shall not constitute more than 20 percent of the gross lot area. <br />b. Shall be screened on all sides with 100 percent opaque screening of wood, masonry, or <br />maintenance free material. Chainlink fencing of any type will not be permitted. <br />c. Shall be surfaced with bituminous or concrete if to be located in the side yard. <br />d. Shall be located in the side or rear yard only. <br />e. Storage area may be surfaced with Class V Gravel in the rear yard provided that: <br />1. The gravel depth must be at least two (2) inches. <br />2. The storage area must be setback at least 20 feet from public rights of way. <br />3. The storage area must be setback at least 35 feet from adjacent residential <br />properties. <br />4. The gravel surface must be kept free of vegetative cover and routinely maintained. <br />5. The size of the gravel surface may not exceed the size of areas surfaced with <br />concrete or bituminous on the property or 20 percent of the gross lot area, whichever is <br />less. <br />f. Items stored outdoors shall comply with Chapter 30 of the Ramsey City Code entitled Public <br />Nuisances. <br />SECTION 3. SUMMARY <br />The following is the official summary of Ordinance #14-10, which has been approved by the City Council <br />of the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. <br />It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #14-10 to amend Ramsey, Minnesota City Code Sections 117-115 <br />and 117-120 to: <br />• Create consistent standards for open and outdoor storage along the Highway 10 Corridor. <br />• Create additional flexibility in surfacing by allowing the use of Class V gravel in lieu of concrete <br />
