Since that time, the Planning Commission created a "working group" to meet with the consulting team on the development of draft and working planning documents. The working group met three times to review and discuss material prepared by the consulting team. The enclosed material focuses on several land use and transportation corridors identified by the Planning Commission and/or the working group. This material is draft in nature and should be used for discussion purposes only. The consulting team will be available Thursday evening to answer questions from the Planning Commission and City staff BACKGROUND As part of the land use and transportation planning processes, a background paper was presented and reviewed by the working group. The purpose of the background paper was to establish a brief history of the major planning events. A copy of the background paper has been included as part of this packet. A brief summary of this report follows: 1. The City of Ramsey's land use planning activities cover over two decades of work. The 1970's involved several planning efforts. In 1973, prior to incorporating as a City, the Township of Ramsey developed its first comprehensive plan.
