The above constitutes the formal 'notification' required; and by way of this letter, I am
respectfully requesting both Mississippi River Trail Inc. and the National Park Service
to issue a letter of support. As you know, the city of Ramsey was successful in the last
application for federal funding for this same important regional and national trail (the
east half connecting to the city of Anoka). The success was undoubtedly in no small
part due to the support of our neighbors and respected colleagues like you.
And on this last point, I sincerely thank you in advance for your anticipated support in
our shared and on -going efforts to connect communities and serve our constituents
with low-cost recreation, sustainable transportation opportunities, and the
infrastructure that is so important in maintaining regional economic vitality. A
statement of support would be most helpful to have before July 31st, 2011, and for
your convenience, either a signed copy mailed or sent electronically is acceptable.
As always, if you would like to discuss the Mississippi River Trail project or any other
matter, please contact me at 763.238.1733, or at mriverblood@ci.ramsev.mn.us.
Yours in Public Service,
Mark Riverblood,
Parks Supervisor
Encls: Draft Location Map
Draft Index Map
MRT- Ramsey's National and Regional Extension Appendix 3, Page 4
