Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14-07-144 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT <br />FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 12-22; RIVERDALE DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION <br />AND EXTENSION — ARMSTRONG BOULEVARD TO TRAPROCK STREET <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion of the Ramsey City Council, adopted May 13, 2014, <br />accepting plans and specifications and authorizing advertisements for bids for making the <br />Riverdale Drive improvements including concrete curb and gutter, bituminous paving, storm <br />sewer, utilities, and other necessary appurtenant work; and <br />WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on July 18, 2014, and the <br />following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br />BIDDING CONTRACTOR <br />Kuechle Underground, Inc. <br />Douglas Kerr Underground, Inc. <br />S.R. Weidema, Inc. <br />Northdale Construction Company, Inc. <br />Northwest Asphalt, Inc. <br />Engineer's Estimate <br />TOTAL BID <br />$2,649,722.45 <br />$2,908,118.08 <br />$3,057,153.70 <br />$3,163,758.12 <br />$3,421,083.23 <br />$2,990,700.00 <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Kuechle Underground, Inc. of Kimball, Minnesota in the amount <br />of $2,649,722.45 for the construction of said improvements in accordance with the approved <br />plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bid <br />shall be and hereby is accepted. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of <br />the City of Ramsey. <br />2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all <br />bidders the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />none <br />RESOLUTION #14-07-144 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
