Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14-09-181 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT <br />FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 14-24; CENTER STREET IMPROVEMENTS — <br />SUNWOOD DRIVE TO RAMSEY PARKWAY <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the executed Transit Oriented Development (TOD) grant <br />agreement between the Metropolitan Council and the City of Ramsey for the construction of <br />Center Street between Sunwood Drive and Ramsey Parkway in an amount not to exceed <br />$650,369; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion of the Ramsey City Council, adopted August 11, <br />2014, accepting plans and specifications and authorizing advertisements for bids for making the <br />Center Street improvements including concrete and bituminous curb and gutter, bituminous <br />paving, concrete sidewalk, storm sewer, utility extensions, and other necessary appurtenant <br />work; and <br />WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on September 5, 2014, and the <br />following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br />BIDDING CONTRACTOR <br />Douglas -Kerr Underground, LLC <br />Dryden Excavating, Inc. <br />LaTour Construction, Inc. <br />New Look Contracting, Inc. <br />Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. <br />Kuechle Underground, Inc. <br />Peterson Companies, Inc. <br />Northdale Construction Company, Inc. <br />Engineer's Estimate <br />TOTAL BID <br />$483,331.31 <br />$496,729.17 <br />$520,977.50 <br />$547,073.42 <br />$559,662.00 <br />$585,239.21 <br />$585,354.61 <br />$643,141.71 <br />$539,402.00 <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Douglas -Kerr Underground, LLC of Mora, Minnesota in the <br />amount of $483,331.31 for the construction of said improvements in accordance with the <br />approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder <br />and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of <br />the City of Ramsey. <br />RESOLUTION #14-09-181 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
