He thanked the Fire Department for their invitation and all of their hard work. <br /> <br />3) Business List <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he has received a lot of complaints from the business community that <br />the City is providing a list of the local businesses for a fee. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that that information is made available by the Chamber of <br />Commerce. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained that the information is available on the City's <br />website free of charge. If the City did charge someone for the list they would have charged them <br />for the copies only. She noted that they could remove the information from the website if the <br />Council directed staff to do so. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich explained that if the City generated the information it is public <br />information. <br /> <br />Counci hnember Elvig stated that maybe they should remove the information from the website. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson replied that she was surprised that businesses would not <br />want their information made available. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the City has the list and it is public information that they <br />have to provide if someone asks. <br /> <br />Consensus was to leave the information on the website and discuss the issue further at a work <br />session. <br /> <br />City Council/October 28, 2003 <br /> Page 17 of 18 <br /> <br /> <br />
