AUTHORIZE USE OF CONTINGENCY FUNDS FOR CITY COUNCIL/MANAGEMENT <br />TEAM STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION AND <br /> RECEPTION AT THE LINKS OF NORTHFORK <br /> Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />A Strategic Planning Session for City Councilmembers and members of the Management Team has <br />been tentatively scheduled for February 2nd and 3''d, 2004. During the Council worksession of January <br />6th, 2003, Council directed staffto pursue the proposal from Carl Neu for facilitation services and a <br />metro area facility to host the session. The proposal from Carl Neu is attached, Staffis in the process <br />of finalizing arrangements for the facility to host the session. <br /> <br />In addition, Council reviewed a proposal for a reception at The Links at Northfork to honor local, state <br />and federal elected and appointed officials and agencies that have helped the City of Ramsey move <br />towards it's goals for Town Center, green space preservation and transportation improvements to <br />Highway 10. Staff has received a proposal from LaTourneau's Catering for the event; the proposal is <br />attached. Staff estimates costs not to exceed $2000 for the reception. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />' Adopt resolution authorizing the use of 2004 Council Contingency funds in an amount not to exceed <br /> $10,000 for contract with Carl Neu for facilitation services and for facility expenses. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Adopt resolution to authorize the use of 2004 Council Contingency funds in an amount not to exceed <br />$2000 for reception at The Links at Northfork in honor of grant awards to the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Adopt resolution authorizing use of Council Contingency Funds in an amount not to exceed $10,000 <br />for the 2004 City Council/Management Team Strategic Planning session to be held February 2nd and <br />3rd, 2004. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Adopt resolution authorizing use of Council Contingency Funds in an amount not to exceed $2,000 for <br />a reception at The Links of Northfork scheduled for January 21st, 2004 in honor of grant awards to the <br />City o ~' Ramsey. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />01/13/2004 <br /> <br />-165- <br /> <br /> <br />
