City of Ramsey, Minnesota <br /> <br /> City Leadership Workshop <br /> <br />Tentative Dates: February 2-3, 2004 <br /> <br />Proposed Objectives <br /> <br />Upon completion of this workshop, the participants will have: <br /> <br />reviewed the elements of a strategic governance leadership process and the <br />habits of highly-effective city councils and council-staff partnerships. <br /> <br />established the council's leadership vision and priorities for the City of <br />Ramsey as the basis for goal setting and policy direction for the city. <br /> <br />identified, from council's and the staff's perspectives, the primary <br />strategic focus areas or issues, shaping the city's future and its ability to <br />aclzieve council's vision and priorities, that rnust be addressed with <br />dynamic leadersl'fip conwnitment and plans. <br /> <br />assessed the likely impacts and challenges that can/will emerge from these <br />strategic performance issues and the choices they pose for the city in terms <br />of changing citizen expectations, service delivery requirements, staffing <br />levels and funding needs. <br /> <br />established goals and desired results/outcomes that will drive council-staff <br />priorities and performance, policy and decision malting, revenue <br />generation and resource allocation (operating and capital budgets) for the <br />next 2+ years. <br /> <br />reviewed and strengthened the partnerships between council and staff and <br />the city, citizens and other key community organizations in achieving the <br />city's vision and goals.
