PC# '5 <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE HIRING OF PATROL OFFICER <br /> By: Heidi Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />On November 25th, 2003, staff received authorization to begin the recruitment process for <br />a patrol officer. Staff has since completed a recruitment process that included'75 <br />applicants, 25 first interviews, and four (4) second interviews. Staff is recommending <br />hiring Bradley Bluml for the position of Patrol Officer. <br /> <br />A pre-employment background investigation was conducted by the police department on <br />Mr. BlumL Mr. Bluml's background investigation, psychological and physical agility <br />exams were all reported as satisfactory. Mr. Bluml has successfully completed a pre- <br />employment physical and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends that Bradley Bluml be hired to fill the new Patrol Officer posjtion at an <br />annual rate of $37,350 (2003 rate--2004 rate yet to be determined). All other personnel <br />policies and LELS contract provisions will apply normally.
