Motion by Councilmember Backous, seconded by Councilmember LeTourneau, to Authorize <br />Professional Services Contract with Premier Commercial Realty to List a Portion of the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center for Lease, following staff contact with governmental agencies and other <br />entities to determine if there is interest in leasing underutilized space in the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers Backous, LeToumeau, Johns, <br />Kuzma, and Tossey. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Riley. <br />7.06: North Metro Mayor's Association Proposal for Creation of T.H. 10 and T.H. 169 <br />Reconstruction Alliance <br />City Administrator Ulrich reviewed the staff report and recommendation to table consideration <br />as the City of Anoka has already opted out of the North Metro Mayor's Association proposal to <br />create a Highway 10 and Highway 169 Reconstruction Alliance and other cities have not yet <br />made a decision. It was noted that while the City of Anoka has no objection to such an Alliance, <br />it does not wish to spend money in that fashion. He indicated that staff was supportive of a <br />collaborative effort; however, it appears that additional work is needed amongst the five <br />communities to gain area -wide support to fund an effective Alliance. <br />Motion by Councilmember LeTourneau, seconded by Councilmember Kuzma, to table <br />consideration of the North Metro Mayor's Association proposal to create a Highway 10 and <br />Highway 169 Reconstruction Alliance, to allow time for staff to meet with representatives of <br />Anoka and the City's State Senator and to gain additional feedback on how to further a Highway <br />10 strategy. <br />Further discussion: The Council discussed the importance of updating Highway 10 and <br />Highway 169 to improve its safety and the need for an alliance with the City of Anoka to further <br />that effort. The Council asked City Administrator Ulrich to meet with the Anoka City Manager, <br />Anoka City Council, and Ramsey's State Senator to discuss other options for addressing a <br />Highway 10 strategy. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers LeTourneau, Kuzma, <br />Backous, Johns, and Tossey. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Tossey. <br />8. MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br />City Administrator Ulrich reported a successful meeting with Mn/DOT about receiving $8 <br />million for the Armstrong Boulevard interchange and intent to schedule a groundbreaking in <br />October of 2014. He announced upcoming meetings and events. <br />City Engineer Westby reported on staff's meeting with Mn/DOT and the Anoka County <br />Highway Department relating to the Highway 47 and Bunker Lake Boulevard intersection <br />project.
