Commission Business
Commissioner Brauer believed the numbers were wrong and wanted to see the City question the
Metropolitan Council before accepting the forecasts. However, in the end it was a political
decision that would be determined by the City Council.
Community Development Director Gladhill stated there were market fluctuations and the City
has questioned the forecasts from 2030 and 2040. The City does not feel there was sufficient
capacity to meet the growing needs of the City of Ramsey going into the future without added
capacity in the regional system plans.
Motion by Chairperson Levine, seconded by Commissioner VanScoy, to recommend that City
Council approve the draft response to the 2020 and 2030 forecasts, with stronger language at the
2020 level.
Motion Carried.
