Council consensus is to place ~r. Fountain's request for a matching donation from the City for a reward fund on the August 27 Council agenda. Mr. Goodrich stated that he will research whether or not the City can contribute to a reward fund. Dale McKnight - 7421 150th Lane - Stated that the Jaycees are in the process of planning Ramsey Days '85 for August 23, 24 and 25 at Central Park. The funds raised fr~m this event will be used to improve the softball fields at Central Park. Mr. McKnight stated that the following are needed from the City in order to carry out the event: 1. 20 bags of chalk and a chaling machine for the softball tournaments; 2. An additional circuit breaker to insure ample power supply; 3. A temporary 3.2 beer license in the name of Ramsey Day '85. Mr. McKnight stated that upon Council approval, rides for the event will be arranged for; plans are to hire the same company that handles the rides for the St. Stephens's Stmm~erfest. Mr. McKnights also requested that a sign be installed at Central Park stating the Park closing time and that no alcoholic beverages are allowed on Park property. Councilm~mber Reimann stated that the company that handles rides at St. Stetmhen's Sur~erfest is very expensive. Mayor Hei~man requested that Mr. McKnight further research whether or not there will be rides at Ramsey Days '85 and the lead time involved. Mayor Heitman stated that if Council action is necessary prior to August 13 regarding rides, he will call for a special meeting. Mr. Goodrich suggested that the Jaycees sutmit to City Staff all plans for the Ramsey Days '85 event; it will then be determined just what permits are required and require Council action. Motion by Councilmember Schlueter and seconded by Mayor Heitman to place the following items on the August 13 Council agenda as two separate items: 1. Jaycee request for a temporary 3.2 beer license. 2. Request for a sign installation at Central Park stating Park closing time and no alcoholic beverages allowed. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. Douglas Fountain- 15255 Garnet Street- Called Council's attention to page 8 of the July 9, 1985 Council minutes, last paragraph, second sentence - 'Councilm~mber Cox inquired if the special Council meeting regarding a gambling license for the Lions was called appropriately.' Mr. Fountain inquired as to why Councilman Cox questioned whether or not the special meeting was called appropriately. Councilmember $chlueter suggested that Councilman Cox answer to Mr. Fountain's inquiry during approval of those July 9 minutes. APPROVAL OF AGENDA July 23, 1985 Page 7 of 13
