Council Secretary Frolik replied that she could not explain the two different <br />styles of type print and she would have to go into her word processor to <br />research the incomplete sentence error and correct it. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that he had reviewed the July 9 minutes and directed Ms. <br />Curtis of City Staff to make corrections that would more accurately reflect his <br />statements at this particular point in the meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Douglas Fountain referred to I~ge 8, 8th paragraph, 3rd and 4th lines and <br />inquired as to why Councilm~mber Cox was questioning the manner in which the <br />special meeting of June 19 was called. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that his comments were intended to make the point that <br />the special meeting was called appropriately; that point was accomplished. <br /> <br />Mr. Fountain referred to page 8 of the July 9 minutes, last paragraph, last 6 <br />lines, and stated that he does not recall Councilmember Reimann making this <br />extensive of a statement regarding the June 30 letter regarding J.R. 's Saloon. <br />Mr. Fountain stated that he recalls Gouncilm~nber Reimann's statement as being <br />that he was or~ly trying to help the guy by having a meeting. Mr. Fountain <br />stated that he doesn't believe Councilmember Reimann made any of the other <br />con~ents as recorded in the July 9 minutes. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Reimann stated that the minutes secretary is very thorough and he <br />feels the content of the minutes reflect his statements. <br /> <br />Councilm~nber Schlueter stated that the minutes are not always a word for word <br />account but the idea is the same. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that often times the minutes give a better grasp for <br />what is transpiring than what is actually being said at the meetings. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Reimann stated that the City has never had a better or more <br />unbiased Council secretary. <br /> <br />Mr. Fountain stated that Reporter Flint has a tape of the meeting and he would <br />like approval of the July 9 minutes tabled until after the minutes have been <br />verified against the tape recording. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Reimann stated that he doesn't feel it is necessary to check the <br />minutes against the tape and that he is ready to make a motion to approve the <br />minutes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter stated that if Council's words are being embellished or <br />taken away, she would like it brought to Gouncil's attention; suggest that Mr. <br />Fountain be given his due right. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Cox stated that he has no problem with Mr. Fountain getting in <br />touch with the Mayor or another friend on Council and pointing out the <br />discrepancy and that Council person bringing it up for review; but at this <br />point Council is supposed to be approving minutes. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman inquired if it is appropriate for a citizen to be identifying <br /> July 29, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 7 of 22 <br /> <br /> <br />
