IMPLEMENTATION PRIORITIES
IMPLEMENTATION PRIORITIES
MnDOT and its local partners placed great emphasis on developing a fiscally responsible implementation plan
to prioritize transportation improvement recommendations from this study. The implementation plan will allow
MnDOT, Anoka County and the Cities of Ramsey and Anoka to keep the momentum going from the study phase
as they transition to funding and constructing recommended projects. The implementation plan prioritizes study
recommendations and focuses efforts to delivering right -sized, fundable -scale projects that:
• Provide immediate safety and/or mobility benefits,
• Provide critical local street connections,
• Have public and local agency support, and
• Support sequencing of improvements
This section assembles the earlier identified 18-22 projects' and groups them into five priority categories:
• Current — 2014/15 Construction Project
• Immediate (0-5 years)
• Short -Term (5-10 years)
• Mid -Term (10+ years)
• Opportunity, Development and/or Safety Driven (0 - 20+ years)
Each of these timeframes are approximate and will largely be dependent upon available funding. However,
this gives MnDOT and its local partners a guide to focus efforts to secure funding and construct projects in
a logical manner.
Table 3 illustrates the implementation plan. The following sections provide additional details of individual
projects within implementation timeframe.
9 The prioritization of projects excludes those identified during the study as not being supported by the cities.
HIGHWAY 10 ACCESS PLANNING STUDY 74
