Council should deal with issues and not personalities <br />and encourage that the cooperation demonstrated at tonight's meeting continues <br />in the future. <br /> <br />MAYOR/OOUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />Mayor Hei~an referred to a memo dated September 6, 1985 from Mr. Mevissen to <br />Mayor and Council regarding use of City truck for hauling free food for needy <br />famLlies to the Senior Center at George Green Park several times a year. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilme~ber COx and seconded by Councilme~ber Reimann approving Mr. <br />Mevissen's request to use City truck and necessary fuel to deliver food for <br />needy femilies to the distribution site at various times during the year. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Goodrich stated that the truck is City equipment and <br />the City is liable even when that equipment is being used for a charitable <br />errand. Councilme~ber Reimann requested that Mr. Mevissen keep a log of <br />mileage and fuel used on these charitable errands. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilme~bers Sorteberg, COx, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Votig No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that there will be a meeting with Representatives Hartinger <br />and Schrieber on September 18, 1985 at 11:00 a.m. in Roc~ 543 of the State <br />Office Building to discuss fiscal disparity, property tax and local aids. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle referred to the development proposed in Bloomington by the <br />Ghermezian Brothers and stated that there has been some discussion of the <br />entire metro area financing that development; there is a group forming up to <br />lobby against that financing method and they may be approaching Ramsey in the <br />near future for financial support in that lobbying effort. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that he will be unable to attend the meeting on September <br />18 with Representatives Hartinger and Schrieber but he and Mr. Schnelle will <br />prepare a letter regarding Ramsey's concerns. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that he has received comments indicating that Ramsey's <br /> September 10, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 10 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
