to support the School District on this particular issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmen%bet Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter <br />to adopt Resolution #85-199 approving of contributing $750 to assist in <br />opposing any changes in the fiscal disparities law to help the City of <br />Bloomington in regards to the constructing of the mega-mall. (Please <br />refer to resolution file for Resolution #85-199). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilme~bers Sorteberg, <br />Cox, Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />B. Letter From Anoka County Regard~ng.'Fiscal Disparities: <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle noted that the Governor's Tax Committee will be meeting on <br />October 30 regarding fiscal disparities; Ramsey should attend and state <br />that fiscal disparit~es and Local Government Aids should be tied <br />together. That Tax Committee will also discuss Tax Increment Financing <br />on October 30. <br /> <br />Motion by Council'member Cox and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter <br />directing City Staff to prepare a statement regarding Ramsey's position <br />on fiscal disparities-, local government aids and tax increment financing; <br />to submit that statement to Council on October 22 for review and submit <br />that statement to the Tax Committee on October 22. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />Cox, Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Cox to <br />adopt Resolution #85-.200 stating Ramsey's opposition to exclusions from <br />fiscal disparities-; stating Ramsey's support of a review of fiscal <br />disparities; and stating Ramsey's encouragement of legislators to search <br />for equitable solutions. (Please refer to resolution file for Resolution <br />#85-200). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />Cox, Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #5: Discussion With Mr. Ayers Of Anoka Area Chamber Of Commerce: <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that Ramsey has been requested to joint the Anoka Area <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Mayor Heitman authorizing <br />the City of Ramsey to join the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce at a cost <br />of $75.00'. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Council~embers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Rei~ann and Schlueter.
