T~ttmr...from Anoka Countv_:dated January 18~ 1985 reoardina <br />nr~_n~rat~on of ]andf~ 1 ]~ ~ns~-t~on reports.- 2. ~ Mayor ms_ r~rt on Ci~ <br />~a~mV.m.~ r~s~nma ~ Metro ~un~]'s pro~s~ draft, on So]~d Waste <br />M~a~nt D~v~]n~nt Gu~de/~] ~ Plant ~. ~tte'r. from Anoka ~ <br />dat~h/J~a~...] 5. ]9R5 reGardinG ~rnnn~at~r stu~:. ~.L_ ~Anoka-.~un~ <br /> <br />1) Letter from Anoka County dated January 18, 1985 regarding preparation <br /> of landfill inspection reports - <br /> <br />Council noted. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Mayor's report on City of Ramsey's response to Metro Council's <br />proposed draft on Solid Waste Management Development Guide/Policy <br />Plan - <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that Ramsey had a prepared statement which City <br />Attorney read at the Metro Council public hearing which emphasized <br />that the Metro Council Development Guide/Policy Plan does not address <br />cities hosting landfills. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that since the public hearing, he has spoken with <br />the Metro Council and they indicated they will not be changing, in <br />any substantial way, the Solid Waste Management Development <br />Guide/Policy Plan, not withstanding two days of public testimony they <br />heard; they will be adopting the plan on March 14, 1985. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle referred to Councilmember Cox's earlier <br />con~ents during City Assessor Staff report and stated that he will <br />take it upon himself to research the 4 or 5 cases sited by <br />Councilmember Cox and report back to Council with his findings. Mr. <br />Schnelle stated that Staff has always been concerned and it is <br />important for Council and citizens to know all the facts in <br />situations where the market value is higher than the selling price. <br /> <br />Councilmember COx stated that the problem is with State laws and he <br />pointed out these cases so the citizens would be aware of what is <br />going on. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that the City has to be very careful when siting <br />economics so everyone understands the situation; incomplete stories <br /> February 26, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 16 of 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
